Sleep deprived…any suggestions?
Well, for the past few months, I have been struggling with sleep. It’s rare that I actually get a full night’s sleep. I blame it on my weight and on stress from the economy. Life hasn’t been easy and it’s affecting my sleep. Now that I’m starting to lose weight and I’m not as broke as I was a few months ago, I would LOVE to sleep peacefully without my mind racing and tossing and turning all night. Any suggestions??
I take advil PM or generic form of it, and have been trying to cut down on caffeine. Make sure you get a full 8 hours of sleep with the advil though, so you don’t wake up feeling sluggish. I have 2 kids so getting a full nights sleep needs to be taken anyway I can get it.
Well…I think that what you may need is to do an activity that quiets your mind before you go to sleep….every night I do yoga for a few minutes before I go to bed…stretches out the muscles, and the concentrated breathing helps the mind wind down…just a thought….let me know if you want any yoga position suggestions.
Whole wheat toast with PB, chamomile mint tea with honey, and a melatonin supplement are the perfect combo to put me to sleep and keep me to sleep! Good ol’ benedryl works well too :)! I work 6PM to 6AM so I’ve had my fair share of insomnia. A sound machine works well.
All those over the counter things have benadryl in them so I would just take that, no caffeine, and relax.
